The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner

Uncover smoother, more radiant skin with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner. Formulated to gently exfoliate the skin’s surface, this toner works to remove dead skin cells, refine texture and promote a more even-looking tone. 

Powered by a well-studied 7 % concentration of glycolic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid derived from sugar-cane) and supplemented with soothing botanical extracts such as aloe vera leaf water, Tasmanian pepperberry derivative and ginseng root extract — this formula delivers an effective yet considerate exfoliation experience. 

This toner is best used as part of your evening skincare routine, and always followed by sun protection in daytime, given the increased sun sensitivity from acid use.

Evening Use Recommended: After cleansing your face and neck, apply the toner.

Saturate a cotton pad (or use fingers if preferred) and sweep gently across face + neck, avoiding the eye contour and lips.

Do not rinse off—leave the toner to absorb into the skin.

Follow with your serum / moisturizer.

In the morning, always apply broad-spectrum SPF (due to increased photoreactivity from acids).

Frequency: Start with 2-3 times per week if new to chemical exfoliants; once skin builds tolerance, can be used daily.

Important Precautions: Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Avoid combining with other strong exfoliants or retinoids on the same night. Sun sensitivity will be increased.

Glycolic Acid (7%): the main exfoliating AHA that penetrates and dissolves the “glue” between dead skin cells, revealing fresher skin underneath.

Tasmanian Pepperberry Derivative: helps reduce sensitivity or irritation associated with exfoliation.
